How do you get a community to rally behind not one but hundreds of ideas? That’s the question Discovery to Impact posed as it worked to amplify UT Austin’s role as a global innovation leader. As the university’s all-in-one commercialization ecosystem, Discovery to Impact bridges the gap between academic research and real-world solutions, turning cutting edge discoveries into technologies, startups, and solutions. But despite its transformational work — from a pen that can detect cancer in ten seconds to the world’s most advanced humanoid robot — the program lacked a cohesive brand platform to communicate its ambition.
Discovery to Impact needed a brand identity that would resonate with a diverse mix of researchers, entrepreneurs, and VC investors while elevating its standing in the fast-growing innovation hub of Austin, Texas. The challenge: tell a unified story about its unique ecosystem of resources and programs, highlight its global impact, and reflect the bold, entrepreneurial spirit of the city it calls home.

From innovations like the COVID vaccine to breakthroughs in clean energy, UT Austin’s legacy of world-changing advancements continues to grow — and Discovery to Impact can tell those stories more powerfully than ever before.
At the heart of this brand transformation was a centerpiece video showcasing the energy and ambition of the program’s innovations. From there, we developed a streamlined digital experience that captured the breadth of Discovery to Impact’s work and created a cohesive, inspiring brand story that speaks to audiences across academia and industry.
This new platform didn’t just elevate Discovery to Impact — it positioned UT Austin as the driving force behind one of the world’s most exciting entrepreneurial ecosystems. Together, we’ve built a brand that celebrates Austin’s boldness while amplifying Discovery to Impact’s ambition.
Our approach to the anthem video was centered around the journey of impact that puts innovators first and emphasized how UT Austin plays a meaningful role in the process from insight to innovation.



Discovery to Impact's web presence needed a visual POV as direct and bold as its intended audience of innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors. We worked closely with the UT Austin team to elevate both messaging and overall visual approach, while remaining respectful of the UT Austin brand equity and system.
When it came to social, we knew we had to meet audiences where they were and hit them with a bang as we launched a brand new social strategy and campaign for the revised Discovery to Impact presence.
Custom handdrawn illustrations continued the emphasis on the tangible, physical work done by Discovery to Impact's pioneers.
